 When I was in 1st grade my grandmother gave me a prized possession, a necklace with a pendant of praying hands and a small opening where you could read the entire Lord’s Prayer. This is one of the first prayers children commit to memory in Sunday School and yet today we tend to recite it without much thought. [...]  When I was a teenager in church, I always wanted to ask the pastor questions about the sermon. I wanted a chance to ask what those ‘churchy’ words meant and I had to fight the urge to raise my hand as I did in school. Our theme for worship on Sunday, May 23rd is “Gathered & Scattered.” We’re celebrating the presence of the Holy Spirit with us today and celebrating the birthday of the Christian church with Ice Cream Sundaes after worship. I’m excited to have Jim & Bonnie Hvistendahl’s mission team lead worship this Sunday, March 21st. I have heard amazing stories of their travels around the world during the past 8 years. They traveled to Costa Rica last month with United Methodist Volunteers in Mission. Their group of over 40 people will share some of their stories of transforming people’s lives.
