Day After Christmas Worship

There are all those after-Christmas sales at the stores marking the end of the buying frenzy, but Christmas isn’t over! In the church, it is just the beginning of the 12 Days of Christmas. During worship we’ll sing favorite Christmas carols and our organist, Dawn Husmann, will tell us some the history of them. We’ll have a short message from Pastor Barb and SING, SING, SING! Christ has come; divine life is in our midst … Don’t let the weather keep you trapped. Follow the footprints in the snow to church at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, the 26th!

Shaped by Prayer

When I was in 1st grade my grandmother gave me a prized possession, a necklace with a pendant of praying hands and a small opening where you could read the entire Lord’s Prayer. This is one of the first prayers children commit to memory in Sunday School and yet today we tend to recite it without much thought. What does Jesus’ Prayer really mean? What does it say to you?
The theme of worship this Sunday is “Shaped by Prayer.” How are you shaped by prayer?

Not Q & A but Q & R …

When I was a teenager in church, I always wanted to ask the pastor questions about the sermon. I wanted a chance to ask what those ‘churchy’ words meant and I had to fight the urge to raise my hand as I did in school.
Well, THIS SUMMER you can do that here! Not Q & A, but Question and Response. July 11th, we’ll be reading and discussing the parable of the Good Samaritan. Who was the injured man? What would it feel like to be helped by someone you hated? How do we know who to help? …

Our theme for worship on Sunday, May 23rd is “Gathered & Scattered.” We’re celebrating the presence of the Holy Spirit with us today and celebrating the birthday of the Christian church with Ice Cream Sundaes after worship.
Join us for worship at 9:30 a.m. featuring our local praise band, “All For You.”
Our worship will be filled with the Spirit, colors, prayer and music!

United Methodist Volunteers in Mission to lead worship on Sunday

I’m excited to have Jim & Bonnie Hvistendahl’s mission team lead worship this Sunday, March 21st. I have heard amazing stories of their travels around the world during the past 8 years. They traveled to Costa Rica last month with United Methodist Volunteers in Mission. Their group of over 40 people will share some of their stories of transforming people’s lives. Please join us at 9:30 a.m. for worship. At 10:45 a.m. during the Sunday School hour we will be watching their video which will be followed by a potluck feast!
