Mission & Outreach

As Christians, we understand that ‘being’ and ‘doing’ for each other is what Jesus’ time on earth taught us. We have the privilege of worshiping together as community, hearing God’s message for us, and then going out into the world to share and to serve.
MARCH is Minnesota Food Share Month. Each Sunday, we collect different items for the Cannon Falls Food Shelf and encourage monetary donations. For each dollar donated, the Food Shelf can purchase about $9 worth of food. Go to giveMN.org and donate today!

During April, May & June our Mission donations will go to Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity who build new and remodel existing homes in the area.

Throughout the year, many people crochet or knit prayer shawls to be given away. Anyone can receive a shawl that has been prayed over and throughout it’s creation. These are displayed in the Education wing.

Community Church Interaction Council (CCIC) is an ecumenical organization of clergy and lay folks who meet 4 times per year to find ways of meeting needs in the Cannon Falls area. We support the food shelf, organize and host a Thanksgiving service and meal, organize Baccaulaureate, support the Good Samaritan Fund, and sponsor a yearly Feed My Starving Children food-packing event.

This is a community-wide event held the November weekend before Thanksgiving. Each year over 100,000 meals are packaged to be shipped to countries around the world in need of emergency food. Many local businesses, service organizations, churches, and individuals donate to support this event. Our church donates our 3rd quarterly Mission offering as well as hosting several fundraisers so that many people can sign up to participate.

JOIN US for our annual SERRV sale! Check the weekly blog posts for the date in late fall. SERRV is an international organization whose mission is to eradicate poverty. Artisans from all over the world learn to sell their crafts and art so they can support their families. Who thought shopping could be an act of justice? When you purchase one of these beautiful gifts you are changing lives.

Mission giving in the 4th quarter of the year goes to supporting our Christmas Giving Tree. Each year we adopt several families and provide toys, clothing, and food.

THESE and more mission opportunities are part of what happens here. We believe that being Christ’s hands and feet in the world is what God needs to co-create God’s kin-dom right now, right here on this beautiful planet we call home.
